back to it

It is growing more and more clear to me how totally insane the world is and at the same time less and less clear how to feel about it. As for the other question - what to do about it - I'm as convinced as anything by the 'stop traffic' approach, though the idea that anyone can do anything seems rather ridiculous.

IOZ writes (in your link): "In the first place, clear your mind of the idea that there is going to be a revolution."

I disagree. There WILL be a revolution. It's inevitable. The question is, will it be a incremental revolution like we had from about 1890 to 1940, or an explosion like the French Revolution?

This is something our present leaders don't understand: the more successful they are, the sooner the revolution will be.

The goal of our national leaders is to continue transferring wealth from the middle and working classes to the wealthy. They also want a large pool of desperate workers who will work long hours for very little just to feed their family, and too desperate to make trouble.

They don't realize that they are merely gathering tinder and piling it around the stake they will eventually be burned at when enough people realize they have nothing left to lose by rebelling.

Our present leaders are as arrogant and clueless as the French aristocracy was. They no longer live among us. They believe their wealth is validation that they in fact deserve everything they earn, and that the poor are equally deserving of their station in life. They don't even see this trainwreck coming...

First, I think that the meaning of revolution IOZ mentions is the explosive kind.

I agree with your picture of the goals and arrogance of our elites, and I even agree that their "success" speeds up the revolution. But I agree with IOZ. There's no revolution in our near future, but I hope I'm wrong.
