consume the terror

How is it possible that I've eaten the #1 most terrifying food in the world, a food more terrifying than #5, which is illegal and causes bloody diarrhea, or #4 which is a drink with dead baby mice as a featured ingredient?

I call bullshit on this list and on paulp's tumblog that led me to it.

Whoa Nelly! I see the next food fad. Balut Bars. Move over sushi!

Impressive. Not that I don't enjoy some of your other posts, but this one I found especially interesting.

I saw Balut on one of Anthony Bourdain's shows. He ate it and actually liked it, though he mentioned it was pretty weird. The baby mice wine has gotta top that.

Balut was pretty good, although I think maybe I got one that wasn't as bad as some others. Mine just tasted like chicken soup mixed with hard-boiled egg yolk.

I think so. They told me not to eat certain parts. I didn't look too close at any of it.

"consume the terror" reminds me of that one X-Files episode where there's that one hideous freak of nature in town that everybody's blaming everything on and is trying to kill, but Mulder and Hot Scully find out that he's actually a superfreak because he eats everyone's diseases, curing them but afflicting him in perpetuum...since he's immortal. Damn, I tried so hard to not make that a run-on. I could've put "immortal" before "superfreak" but then I wouldn't get to flex my stream of concsciousness.
