please consider sending Arthur Silber some money. he's a brilliant writer living in desperate poverty and illness. every little bit helps.

Do you know why he doesn't sign up for medicare/medicaid (how old is he?)? He clearly would qualify for one of them. I can't understand from this essay or the linked essays. It seems like he'd be willing to participate in a free healthcare system if we had one, so I'm puzzled.

Also, not sure if you know, but does he boycott Walmart and other major grocery stores? Many of them have lists of a few hundred prescriptions you can get for $4 each. It seems to include most major drugs.

I can't quickly find a link to the post where he states why he refuses such services, but basically it is a principled stand against the state, or at least this state.

Not sure about Walmart, but they're pretty evil too.

That said, he was willing to accept 911 emergency help, so I'm not sure how that shakes out with all this.
