Hey, I ran for (a very minor) office and won. I'm a politician. I get to see power from the inside.
I've already detected whiffs of the superficial reality you refer to here, and I can also tell I'm not going to be Mr. Popularity with my fellow very minor officials after a year. Wait 'til they find out I'm an atheist... heh
