kill your TV!

I've mentioned this before, but I think it might be worth saying again. I love not having TV. Life is just better without it. If there's a show or two that you can't live without, you can always watch them on the internet, only on your own schedule and without (or at least with far fewer) commercials. And you avoid the giant time-suck that is TV, and probably save some money. If someone had suggested this to me 2 years ago I would have thought it sounded nice but I couldn't do it. But I would have been wrong. Consider it!

Shun fancy things like electricity!

I'm a recovering TV addict and I agree. Though I've found other ways to distract myself, I'm not spending nearly as much time being a zombie. It's becoming harder to remember how I got stuff done with TV in the house.

I think we're starting to take for granted having cable, cell phones and vehicles. We think these are necessities, when if we went through our routines without them we could accurately assess where they fit (if at all) in our lives.

Not having a cell phone has been only slightly inconvenient once in a while, if that. I like that freedom. I do like our landline and the convenience of included long distance to the States.

Next shunning: the car!

I need TV just for pumping. I already hate doing it. Pumping staring off into space is like a million times worse.

Our internet isn't fast enough to watch videos.
