This latest round reminds me yet again how pathetic it is that there's a political party with such a strong anti-reality tendency. Apparently acknowledging broad scientific consensus is too much for these lunatics.

So I really have to recommend "Field Notes from a Catastrophe" again, particularly to any global-warming deniers that you know.

Science and scientists partially exist to help guide policy. We don't expect that all policy decisions are going to be made based on science, but politicians, who have no training in science, should not try to interpret science. That's what the National Academy and NIH is for.

When every single legitimate scientist agrees that global warming is caused by humans, how is acceptable for politicians to deny it?
