I might as well use some of this late-night contemplation on a totally worthless topic: professional sports. After reading this article I think I'm going to have a tough time renewing my NFL Season Ticket subscription. It isn't that I have any moral problem with grown men making risky decisions about what chemicals they ingest, and it isn't that superhuman freaks crashing into each is boring (quite the contrary), but I just don't think I want to support that perverse system with my $200. These guys are taking decades off their life to be achieve wealth and fame by amusing people with their unnatural physical prowess. Something about all of it is just pathetic and sad.
