If I remember right, weren't you recently engaged as of a year or 2 ago, meaning you might have recently gotten married? If so, congrats to you too. Or if I'm thinking of someone else, ignore me.
The balut was pretty good. I was a little nervous about it, but it was anticlimactic when they told me not to eat the little chicken. The rest just tasted like hardboiled egg yolk mixed with chicken broth. I would have probably enjoyed it more if I had known I didn't have the chicken looming at the end.
I've glanced at the photo album a few times since this entry was posted, each time getting a similar feeling, but never really finding a good way to express it. I suppose the best way I can put it is that while I dig on seeing my friends having a good time, these images are slightly different, because they aren't from an occasion that's relatively worthless...like pictures after the NCAA championship, or a good run at Atlantic City. I think it's just that the occasion was one of actual happiness rather than some sort of constructed nonsense that makes me smile, even though I wasn't there and really have no idea what any of those pictures are actually of (sentences ending with prepositions notwithstanding).
Anyway, congratulations on the whole "being married" thing. Your wife must have the patience of a saint.
