Visited Montreal over the summer and loved it. I can't wait to go back. Went to Quebec city too, but that wasn't as cool. Montreal is a huge metropolis with an awesome mix of modern downtown and old-world waterfront. I highly recommend it. Quebec City was alright, but too quaint for my tastes.
South Park movie maybe? Soudns really familiar but I can't place it.
As far as Canada, do you know anything about Canada? They're going through a conservative crisis themselves and Quebec is eternally unhappy with not being its own backwards country. I'd learn a bit more about Canadian politics if you plan to move there to escape this country's.
