Idiots in charge

How it is possible that we could have a brand new Secretary of Defense, appointed in the middle of a military campaign in Iraq, say the following? How is this even conceivable?
At one point Gates, just three weeks on the job, told lawmakers, "I would confess I'm no expert on Iraq." Later, asked about reaching the right balance between American and Iraqi forces, he told the panel he was "no expert on military matters."
My eyes are bleeding.

Nothing new here. The #1 question for any appointed post in this sham of an administration is "are you loyal to the president and republican party", regardless of the duties of the office.

Nothing to see here, but please don't move along. Just because you can get used to it doesn't mean that you should.
